Vince Pierri was the Kids Pastor at High Point Church in Madison. In 2017, our team started the process of figuring out why kids don’t read the Bible on their own anymore. We wondered if part of the reason was that the Bible’s table of contents was basically a complete mystery to them. Most kids don’t have any idea how all the Biblical books and stories fit together into one narrative.

So, we wrote and recorded an album called the Greatest Story Ever Told—a musical version of the Bible. Imagine the musical Hamilton, but for kids, that tells the whole story from Genesis to Revelation and references which books of the Bible where each story is found. We got the album into our families’ hands in August 2018 and have been playing the songs on Sunday mornings as well.

We’ve been blown away by how excited kids have been. They've memorized all the words and really seem like they’re finally getting the big picture. We've gotten tons of emails from parents saying their kids are much more interested in the Bible and are excited to read it.

Now we’re inviting families and other churches to be a part of that same story! It's free to listen on Spotify or Apple Music, or you can order a physical copy. If you’re a parent, start playing the songs around the house, in the yard, in the car. You’ll be shocked to hear how quickly your kids start singing the entire Biblical narrative from memory.

If you’re a kids ministry person, the music syncs up really easily with any Sunday School curriculum. You just play the song that contains that Sunday’s story. We’ve created a music video for every song.

We hope these songs become a part of your kids’ foundational experience of God’s word. We hope the mystery of the table of contents is unlocked. We hope that through this music, your kids would come to know God’s word like never before.
